Medical applications of Nitinol tubes

Nitinol tube is an intermetallic compound consisting of approximately equal atomic ratios (50 percent nickel and 50 percent titanium), with a density of 6.45g/cm3, and a melting point of 1240-1310℃. Martensite and austenite have two-phase crystal structure, and they will transform to each other under certain conditions, and show shape memory effect and hyperelasticity in this process. These are also two important functions in the application of medical learning.

Nitinol tubes shall be welded with 304 stainless steel. Nitinol tube shall be 1.8mm * 1.4mm. Stainless steel is 2.5mm * 1.8mm. During welding, the nitinel tube shall be inserted into the stainless steel tube to a depth not exceeding 4mm. Because of the hot brittleness of the niti tube, welding is easily interrupted.

Nitinol tube is a kind of shape memory alloy. Shape memory alloy is a special alloy that can automatically restore its plastic deformation to its original shape at a certain temperature. Its expansion rate is more than 20%, fatigue life is up to 7 power of 1 * 10, damping characteristics is 10 times the ordinary spring, its corrosion resistance is better than the current good medical stainless steel, so it can meet all kinds of engineering and medical application needs, is a very good functional materials.
